What is the European REACH regulation ?

REACH is a European Union regulation (1907/2006/EC) that limits the levels of specific chemicals in all imported products. It makes it possible to secure the manufacture and use of chemical substances in European industry. This involves identifying, evaluating and controlling chemical substances manufactured, imported and placed on the European market.
There is a general limit 49 w/w (0.1 in % of total product weight) for each of SVHC 0.1 which applies to all product types

REACH covers consumer products such as clothing and shoes, jewelry, electrical and electronic products, toys, furniture, health and beauty products. This also applies to products currently regulated by specific regulations such as the Toys Directive (2009/48/EC), the Cosmetics Directive (EC No. 1223/2009) and the RoHS Directive (2011/65). / EU). Restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Although REACH is European legislation, companies located outside the EU may need to comply with its requirements due to the global nature of their supply chains.
