ISTA 1B Testing

ISTA certified testing laboratory, essais de transport

Our testing laboratory carries out ISTA 1B tests to simulate the transport of packages weighing over 68kg (150 lb).

What is ISTA 1B ?

The ISTA 1B test procedure, defined by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), is a standardized protocol for testing packaged products weighing over 68 kg (150 lbs) as they are prepared for shipment. This test is designed to evaluate the performance and integrity of the packaging and the product it contains.

ISTA 1B testing by 6NAPSE

6NAPSE Group is an “ISTA certified Testing Laboratory”. Our testing laboratory performs ISTA 1B tests to ensure the integrity of the packaged products over 68 kg (150 lb) when prepared for shipment.

These tests assess a package’s ability to protect a heavy product during transport. They also allow for a comparison of the relative performance of different package and product designs.

  • Vibration: Simulation of vibrations encountered during road, rail, or air transport.
  • Shock and Impact: Drop, tilt, and rotational shock tests to simulate handling and dropping.
  • Compression: Compression tests to evaluate the package’s resistance to stacking and loads.
  • Environmental Conditions: Temperature and humidity variations.

Furthermore, the 6NAPSE Group is able to conduct other ISTA procedures to meet different conditions or objectives.
