ISTA 7D Testing

ISTA certified testing laboratory, essais de transport

Our testing laboratory performs ISTA 7D tests to simulate temperature variations during the transport of packaging and packaged products.

What is ISTA 7D ?

The ISTA 7D test procedure, defined by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), is a standardized protocol for evaluating the thermal performance of transport packaging. It measures a packaging’s ability to protect a product from external temperature variations. It is used for temperature-sensitive products such as medicines, food, and electronics.

ISTA 7D testing by 6NAPSE

The 6NAPSE Group is certified as an ISTA Testing Laboratory. Our testing laboratory conducts ISTA 7D tests to measure a product’s ability to protect against external temperature variations. This method also allows us to develop and analyze temperature-controlled transport packaging.

  • Controlled temperature cycles:
    • Packages are subjected to temperature variations that simulate the conditions encountered during transport.
    • These cycles may include periods of extreme heat, intense cold, and transitions between these states.
  • Packaging performance analysis:
    • Evaluation of thermal protection, i.e., the packaging’s ability to maintain product temperature within acceptable limits.
    • Evaluation of the effectiveness of packaging materials and design.
    • Suggestions for improvements to the packaging design for better thermal protection.

Furthermore, the 6NAPSE Group is able to conduct other ISTA procedures to meet different conditions or objectives.
