IEC 60664 testing

Essais diélectriques par diélectrimètre, permittivité relative, constante diélectrique, mesure d'isolation électrique

The 6NAPSE Group carries out IEC 60664 testing to evaluate and validate the electrical insulation of equipment.

What is the IEC 60664 standard?

The IEC 60664 standard (International Electrotechnical Commission) establishes the requirements for insulation coordination in low-voltage electrical equipment (up to 1000V AC and 1500V DC).
Its purpose is to ensure safety against the risks of electric shock and fire.

IEC 60664 Testing for electrical insulation of equipments

The 6NAPSE Group conducts testing for electrical equipment. Our testing laboratory evaluates the electrical insulation performance of equipment according to the IEC 60664 standard. We use a dielectric strength meter for this purpose.

  • Withstand voltage tests: Applying a direct or alternating voltage for a specified period of time to verify that the insulation does not exhibit breakdown (electrical discharge).
  • Creepage and clearance analysis: Verifying that the clearances comply with the standard’s requirements, based on the design documentation, taking into account the degree of pollution and the applied voltage.

Go further

  • Aging tests: Subjecting insulating materials to prolonged thermal, electrical, and environmental stresses to assess their durability over time.
  • Environmental tests: measure voltage resistance under specific environmental conditions such as hot or cold, in humidity.
