ISO 10534-2 testing

Our design office carries out tests according to the ISO 10534-2 standard and characterizes the sound absorption of your materials.
What is ISO 10534-2 ?
ISO 10534-2 defines a precise method for determining the sound absorption coefficient and surface acoustic impedance of absorbing materials. In other words, it measures the ability of a material to absorb sound rather than reflect it.
Why ISO 10534 tests are important ?
- Acoustic optimization: ISO 10534-2 testing is essential to select the best materials for your acoustic insulation needs.
- Regulatory compliance: In many industries, acoustic standards are mandatory. This test ensures that your products comply.
- Performance improvement: By understanding the acoustic properties of your materials, you can improve the performance of your products and optimize their design.
ISO 10534-2 testing : determination of sound absorption factor and impedance
The 6NAPSE Group determines the sound absorption factor and impedance of materials according to the NF EN ISO 10534 standard.
Our laboratory uses an impedance tube to subject the material to a sound wave. By analyzing how this wave is absorbed or reflected, we can determine its sound absorption and impedance coefficient. This data indicates the ability of a material to absorb sound waves rather than reflect them.
For these measurements, we have a 44 mm tube (temperature regulated between 0 and 60 °C) or a 29/100 mm tube. We are also able to calculate the attenuation index.
This test is intended for all manufacturers wishing to evaluate the acoustic properties of new materials, verify compliance with current standards or improve the acoustic comfort of their products.
