essais altitude transport aérien

The 6NAPSE Group carries out altitude tests to simulate the air transport of industrial parts and products.

When a part or product is exported and transported by air, it undergoes a depressurization (or change in pressure) which can lead to changes in its operation or defects. This is why the manufacturer seeks to validate the behavior of its part during atmospheric change.

The main sectors concerned are Aeronautics, Military-Defence, Mobility (Electric Battery and Electric Motor).

Altitude tests – air transport simulation

The 6NAPSE Group performs a simulation of the conditions encountered during air transport without pressurization. Indeed, the teams carry out altitude tests on products likely to be transported, stored or used at high altitude. Thus, they characterize the potential negative physical or operational effects caused by the low pressure environment.

During an altitude test, the product is placed in a box capable of withstanding the differential pressure. The air present is gradually removed at a controlled rate until the required low pressure level is reached. It then simulates high altitude conditions. The low pressure environment is maintained for the duration of the test to assess the physical and/or operational effect of the environment on the product.

Standards : UN38.3, DO-160, MIL-STD, GB 38031

According to the UN38.3 standard, the simulated altitude is 1000m. For the Chinese standard GB 38031, the teams simulate a high altitude of 4000m. Finally, for the DO-160 standard, the altitude is from 4600m to 16800m.

To carry out these tests, the 6NAPSE Group uses an altitude bench which can contain parts of 2m x 1m x 1m and with a maximum mass of 1 ton.
