Compression testing
The 6NAPSE Group carries out compression testing and measures the resistance of materials in the laboratory.
The compression test is one of the most important tests to determine the behavior of finished products. Indeed, it is essential in certain industrial contexts, to know the compressive strength and the capacity to support the loads of a material or a structure.
The test consists of crushing a product at a uniformly increasing pressure in order to determine its behavior under an applied load.
It is opposed to the tensile test which measures the resistance to elongation.
Compression testing
The 6NAPSE Group testing laboratory has a traction machine, a robot arm and cylinders to carry out these tests.
The compression test is carried out according to the specifications. It is achieved by applying forces to a material that is pushed against the opposite side. This action then causes the compression, crushing or flattening of the material. During the compression test, the sample undergoes deformation or rupture.
These tests make it possible to determine:
- Breaking strength
- Deformation under load
- Material rigidity
Thus, by knowing all of these values, it is possible to determine whether the product is suitable for certain applications or whether it does not meet the specifications under certain constraints.
The 6NAPSE Group conducts other mechanical resistance testing on products.
