​The 6NAPSE Group carries out material analysis and testing verification of metals. our laboratory also determines the chemical composition of metal parts (ex: steel, brass, iron, copper, etc.).

As part of the verification of a material, manufacturers seek to validate the grade of a metal part. There are indeed all types of metal parts.

All industries require material verification analysis of metals. This particularly concerns pharmaceuticals on the validation of cannulas or metal parts that can be included in spray systems. Luxury also seeks to validate materials and the composition of surface treatments. In aeronautics, aerospace, automotive, industry, electrical, etc. : all require elemental dosing.

Metal analysis and material verification laboratory

The 6NAPSE Group’s materials analysis laboratory performs material control and validation of product conformity by analyzing the grades of metal alloys.

Material analysis is done on all metals:

  • Verification of the purity of copper, iron, cobalt
  • Validation of the grade of a steel (ex: C35), a stainless steel, a titanium (ex: TA6V), an aluminium, a tin or a brass
  • Chemical analysis of metal powders for additive manufacturing (e.g. “inconel” nickel base powder)
  • Validation of a chemical surface treatment (anodizing, chemical nickel, electrolytic deposits, chemical deposits, conversion treatment)

The 6NAPSE Group verifies the material compositions of the 3.1 certificates.

Control of metal alloy grade

There are two ways to approach material validation. First of all, the laboratory offers semi-quantitative material analysis, via the EDX probe of the SEM or X-ray fluorescence to determine the composition of a material globally.
For example, it is possible to determine whether the metal analyzed is a 316 steel or a 304 steel.

Then, the quantitative analysis makes it possible to validate more precisely the shade of the metallic material. For this, the laboratory uses SEO, ICP analysis and carbon-sulfur LECO.
With this precision analysis, it determines whether it is 304 or 304L steel.
