Nanoparticles characterization laboratory

analyse caractérisation nanoparticules nanoparticle

The 6NAPSE Group laboratory carries out the identification and characterization of nanoparticles (between 0.3 nm and 10,000 nm).

Nanoparticles characterization in laboratory

Our laboratory performs the analysis and characterizes very small particles (between 0.3 nm and 10,000 nm). For this, we use the Zetasizer Ultra from Malvern Panalytical, an equipment whose principle is based on dynamic light scattering (DLS).

Our technique has several advantages for the analysis of nanoparticles. First of all, it offers the possibility of working with very concentrated or very dilute samples. Then, it makes it possible to determine the zeta potential, the molecular weight and the concentration.

With its analytical park, our team dedicated to the study of materials supports you in the development of your products or in the monitoring and control of materials.

Technical characteristics :

  • Size measurement of particles and molecules between 0.3 nm and 10 µm.
  • Multi-Angle Light Spread (MADLS): 173°, 13° and 90°
  • Particle zeta potential measurement indicating sample stability
  • Concentration measurement: threshold at 0.1 mg/ml
  • Disposable or reusable cells on limited quantities (minimum volume: 3 µL)
  • Temperature measurement (from ambient 25°C to 90°C)

Regulations on nanoparticles and nanomaterials

For several years, nanoparticles have been present in our daily lives: nanoparticles of titanium dioxide in paints for more shine and whiteness, nano hydroxyapatite of calcium phosphate in toothpastes or even nano silicon dioxide in food. They even appear in our clothes (silver nanoparticles) to prevent bad odors or to give them waterproof or antistatic properties.
In constant development, the use of nanomaterials raises many questions about the effects on health and the environment.

Since January 1, 2020, the European Commission has clarified the information requirements to be provided in the registration dossiers for the nanoparticle form of substances.

Short standard deadlines and possibilities of emergencies.
