Iron analysis and alloys analysis in Laboratory

The 6NAPSE Group carries out the analysis of iron and ferrous materials. The laboratory also conducts metallurgical expertise and material failure studies.

Characteristics of iron and its alloys in industry

Iron is the most used material in the world. However, it is rarely used in its pure state (except to solve certain weldability problems, especially on stainless steels). The main alloys are cast iron and steel which combine iron with carbon and other elements to further diversify the properties of the material.

The 6NAPSE Group laboratories provide their expertise on metallic materials to support manufacturers.

Validation and corrosion testing

In our test centers, we also carry out premature aging tests on materials in order to analyze their change of state, their durability or their conformity. Also, we conduct environmental and mechanical validation tests:

• Environmental tests (temperature, susceptibility to fluids, light, etc.)
• Mechanical tests (fatigue, endurance, maneuver)
• Vibration tests (shock resistance in an assembly)

We are also able to carry out the expertise of a failure (breakage, rupture, appearance defect) as well as the identification of the origin of corrosion (rust) and corrosion resistance tests in condition salt fog.
