RoHS testing and analysis in laboratory

Test RoHS, l’analyse de conformité de la concentration en substances des équipements électriques et électroniques (EEE).

6NAPSE Group carries out RoHS testing services. The laboratory supports you in the compliance analysis of the concentration of substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).

All new electrical and electronic products must be checked for their concentration of restricted substances, such as lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), etc.

The RoHS testing by our expert laboratory ensures compliance with the European RoHS directive in force.

RoHS testing laboratory

6NAPSE Group laboratories carry out RoHS testing. We carry out the identification and concentration of dangerous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Thus, we help you verify compliance with RoHS regulations.

  • Substance identification tests
    • Analysis of the chemical composition of a substance as part of a RoHS compliance file
    • Identification of risks and potential dangers
  • REACH / SVHC physicochemical tests: analysis of chemical substances and identification of potentially dangerous materials (substances of very high concern)
  • Characterization of electronic cards, PCBs, components, etc.
  • Preparation: acid digestion, dilution and/or release (leaching)

Our laboratory uses ICP-AES (OES), ICP-MS and ion chromatography analysis for RoHS analyses.

Applications

  • Large household appliances
  • Small household appliances
  • Computer and telecommunications equipment
  • Consumer hardware
  • Lighting equipment
  • Electrical and electronic tools
  • Toys, leisure and sports equipment
  • Medical devices
  • Monitoring and control instruments
  • ATMs

What is the RoHS directive?

The RoHS directive 2002/95/EC in force since July 1, 2006 limits the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. It excludes all non-compliant products from the market.

RoHS is the acronym for “Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment”.

Thus, no product must exceed the RoHS limits of 0.1% or 1000 ppm (except for cadmium, which is limited to 0.01% or 100 ppm) by weight of homogeneous materials.

The equipment concerned is most electrical and electronic devices described in the European WEEE directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
