UV – Xenon testing: sun exposure aging
The 6NAPSE Group carries out UV testing and Xenon testing in order to evaluate the photoaging of materials. Then, we analyzes their behavior and their resistance to accelerated exposure to UV rays and sunlight.
Photoaging tests (solar spectrum or UV) aim to simulate accelerated aging related to radiation and climate.

Sun exposure and light resistance tests (UV – Xenon)
Accelerated Xenon/UV light weathering tests will simulate direct sunlight and sunlight passing through glass. The 6NAPSE Group also conducts tailor-made cycle tests to guarantee resistance to the solar spectrum.
This laboratory test allows manufacturers to decide on the choice of materials to be adapted according to the environmental conditions of the target markets. Tests are carried out on all types of materials (inks, coatings, polymers, leathers, etc.).
The parts are placed in controlled environments (temperature, humidity / condensation / spray, irradiance) in Q-UV and Q-SUN enclosures (according to ISO 4892-2 or -3 or ASTM G154/G155 standards, etc.). Photoaging chambers mimic radiation exposure and control temperature and humidity as well as a water sprinkler system (dew and rain cycle). Thus, they meet existing specifications and standards.
The samples can be aged for several days and then observed at regular intervals (colour, shine, photo, etc.).
The laboratory then analyzes the types of damage caused: phenomena of color change, loss of gloss, chalking, cracking, fissuring, blue staining, blistering, flaking, loss of resistance and oxidation.
